National Border Patrol Museum
For those who want to get up close and personal with the history of El Paso, the National Border Patrol Museum is a must-visit. For more than 100 years the National Border Patrol has been ensuring that illegal immigrants, drugs and other contraband don’t cross into America. The Museum tells their story through photographs, weapons and oral histories.
Tex-Mex Food
You can’t go to El Paso without trying their local fusion of Mexican cuisine and American cooking styles called Tex-Mex. The best places to eat it are on the streets in the historic Downtown district, where you can see how locals live. The most popular dishes are enchiladas, chile con carne and margaritas.
Plaza Theatre
Originally built to be a movie house, the beautiful and historic Plaza Theater is now a concert and Broadway venue. The grandeur of the space speaks for itself, with plush carpets, delicate banisters of wrought iron and painted ornate ceilings. It’s a great place to watch a show, but the music and ambiance alone are worth the price of admission!
Hueco Tanks State Park
For hikers, nature lovers and those who like to rock climb, the Hueco Tanks State Park is a must-visit. Throughout the area, there are natural trails that encourage hiking and amazing views of the landscapes. The park is also like a giant outdoor museum, with historical sites all over the park from pottery that dates back centuries to Native American rock art.

Concordia Cemetery
One of the most fascinating things to do in El Paso is taking a tour of the historic Concordia Cemetery. It is one of the oldest in the state and home to some famous names from Texas history. You can follow a guided tour or explore on your own. The cemetery is also where the famous outlaw John Wesley Hardin is buried.
